My family nickname is “Elle” and I’ve always loved it – I think it’s sweet and familiar. “Redux” originates from the Latin “reducere” and it means “brought back” or “revived”. I’ve always been very interested in the concepts of revival and resurgence. “Elle” (me)+ “Redux” (brought back)! One of my favourite animals from mythology is the Phoenix and I find everything about it enchanting. Despite a fiery death, they are able to return and rise from the ashes. The symbolism is something that I have taken comfort in for a long time but have not always had the courage to put in to practice. I think I was probably the phoenix that was somewhat hidden in the ashes without daring to peek through! After a lot of reading, soul-searching and honest conversations with myself, I decided that the only way I could progress and really “revive” was to be very open and honest about the things I wanted to do and achieve. Everything changed from there on – you don’t always believe it until it happens! This blog is one of the things that I wanted to do and finally after many years of observation – a fully-fledged blog blog!
